Drops In A Bucket

We live in a busy, fast paced world which can be both exhilarating and demanding. People are inundated with messages to do more, take on more, be more. This can sometimes leave one feeling overwhelmed with the demands of daily live never mind the idea of helping others.

Whenever a natural or man-made disaster strikes the call goes out for aid and collectively we respond. We look beyond our differences and squabbles and open our hearts to our global sisters and brothers.

Although recovery for the individuals affected by the disaster continues, the majority of us go back to our lives until the next dramatic, shattering event occurs.

My nature tends to be preventive rather than crisis oriented and although I see the need to help in times of crisis it didn’t feed a deeper desire to support others.

On and off over the years I have thought about creating a foundation however couldn’t see a way to squeeze more time and resources out of an already busy schedule.

One day as I was working on the monthly newsletter I realized that it wasn’t about doing more it was about teaming up with you.

The proverbial light went on and I thought” why not ask for a donation through the newsletter”. I realized that together you and I could respond to the question “how can I help” in an easy effortless way. And so “The Drops In A Bucket Foundation” was born.

Here’s how it works

Each month when you get the newsletter if you choose to participate through the Paypal button below you will be able to contribute $5.

You don’t have to sign up for anything, no one will contact you at any point for money, and you won’t be on a list (unless you signed up for my newsletter). This money will go directly to a charity account.

At the end of each year the money will be given to reputable, local charities that work with children or provide start up loans for people who want to create a small cottage type business.

I like the idea of investing in children and committed people who have a gift to offer but not the resources to get started. The “pay it forward” that comes from this is pretty obvious.

At the end of each year I will post the amount raised and how the funds were used.

I think that collectively our drops will soon have the bucket overflowing. Let’s circulate some love and abundance!
